New Law Student Services Created
Launch of Iranian American Student Bar Association
(IASBA)
CALLING ALL LAW STUDENTS! The Iranian American Bar
Association (IABA) is proud to announce the formal launch of the Iranian
American Student Bar Association (IASBA). With two IASBA chapters already
founded at the George Washington University Law School and American University
Washington College of Law here in Washington DC, we're off to a great start!
The mission of IASBA is:
-
To create gathering points within law schools
nationally to connect to Iranian American law
students and their allies
-
To maintain connections between past, present, and
alumni law students
-
To promote scholarship, excellence, camaraderie,
and advancement of Iranian American law students through a mentorship
program
-
To develop and maintain a useful resource for
finding internships and employment for law students
-
To spread knowledge, understanding, and acceptance
of Iranian/Persian culture and values
-
To encourage pre-law students in their endeavors to
become lawyers
With that, we need your help! In an effort to
establish self-sustaining IASBA chapters across law schools nationwide, we're
looking for reliable student leaders to establish IASBA chapters at their
respective law schools.
IASBA chapters will maintain and promote continuous communication
between other IASBA school chapters, IABA city chapters, and IABA- National.
IASBA chapters will host practitioners, educators, law students, and pre-law
students to valuable co-sponsored events, while linking with other chapters to
promote communication among the many Iranian American law students
nationwide.
Be the next leader of an IASBA chapter! For more information or to
learn how to get involved, please contact Farisa Dastvar at fdastvar@iaba.us or
Dean Dastvar at ddastvar@iaba.us.
